Commercial LED Pole Lighting Plans
Why are photometrics important? They allow you to see your area and how it would look under LED Lighting taking the risk out of buying. We can easily run different options with our lights, and provide you with the proper information and guidance. We're here to save you money with LED. But it's as important to get the lighting right.
Why choose LED Lighting Supply Pole Lights?
LEDLightingSupply's LED Pole Lights are designed for parking lots and street lighting. Fixtures are available and designed to save up to 75% on your energy bill. We offer free lighting plans to take the risk out of buying LED.
Outdoor LED post lights offer high quality light along with savings in energy. We offer lights to replace 250W to 2000W HID. Our pole top lights are designed for use in parking lots and path ways. They provide bright outdoor lighting for retail shopping as well as commercial security lighting
1. Replace 250W to 1000W Metal Halide
Replace 250W HID
Replace 400W HID
Replace 1000W HID
LED Post Top Fixtures produce from 5200 lumens to 39000 lumens. We can easily replace 1000W HID consuming 66% less energy. These lumen packages are more than enough to replace traditional style HPS and Metal Halide Post Top fixtures.
We can produce a free photometric evaluation of your outdoor space to show you how well our LED Pole Top fixtures work, what model is appropriate and how the optics and fixture will perform in your outdoor space.
High Intensity Discharge Lamp to LED Conversion
|Traditional Post Top Lamp||LED Post Top - Lumens (100% directional)|
|250 Watt HPS / Metal Halide||10,000-12,000 lumens|
|400 Watt HPS / Metal Halide||15,000-25,000 lumens|
|1000 Watt HPS / Metal Halide||36,000-55,000 lumens|
2. Optics Options for Post Top Lights
Type 3, 5
LEDs are directional lights. Their light's focussed and with optics lights up the intended location. They have diodes with individual optics and discharge light evenly across surfaces. Optics control the illumination pattern by delivering their designed beam pattern.
The most common parking lot distribution patterns are Types 3 and 5. Why one works best for your location? Let us do a free photometric with one of our many post top options.
3. High Voltage 480V Post Top Fixtures
We offer both standard voltage options of 100V-277V (standard) and high voltage options of 347V-480V (optional).
Our LED PostTop lights are available with at least a 4kVA surge suppression. This keeps your pole top investment safe in unsafe weather conditions.
4. 3000K to 5000K Color Temperatures
We offer Post-Top color temperature options in 3000K, 4000K and 5000K. 5000K is a perfect replacement for Metal Halide. 4000K is also an option for those states requiring a slightly warmer light. Other color temperatures available upon request.
Both offer a significant improvement over high pressure sodium lights, rated at 2200K.
5. Control Ready and Dimmable
Another great thing about our LED post top lights is they can dim down. This means you can turn off or dim each fixture in the absence of motion. This does not affect the life of the LEDs, other than it will extend it. And a dimmed light uses less electricity, saving you even more on your lighting bill.
Think about this. Converting Metal Halide to LED, you might switch from 400 Watts to 120W. At night, if the light dims to 10%, that means the LED is now using 12W. That's a reduction of 388 Watts. (actually the HID lamp consumes 455W with the ballast draw, so you're saving 443W per fixture. That's huge!)
6. L70 Light Maintenance - 50,000 hours
Lumen maintenance relates to the lifespan of a light source. LED lights do not burn out like traditional lights. They maintain initial lumens longer. What happens is the light intensity fades gradually, but this usually takes years.
A 70% deterioration in light output is the point at which the human eye notices a decline in the intensity. But, the human eye is only affected when the light intensity of a light source reaches a level of 30%.
Used 12 hours a night, our LED Pole Top fixtures will provide bright, maintenance free lighting for years.
7. High CRI - 70+
One of the specifications you need to pay attention to is CRI (color rendering index). This is a measurement of the quality of light that the fixture is producing. It is a scale between 0 and 100. Sunlight is 100. A general rule is that you need less quantity of light if you have better quality. LED has high CRI making the quality better than most traditional light sources.
One word of caution. High CRI is not required in traditional post top outdoor environments (80+ CRI). It is great for retail environments where true color representation is important. We would not recommend a high CRI solution for an outdoor industrial application.
8. Energy savings - up to 80%
LED lights offer high-quality light and use fewer watts than traditional HID lighting. What this means is that you will have more intense light but your power bill will decrease. Most of the traditional HID post top lights use between 250 and 1000 watts. That does not include the additional 15% energy used for ballast draw.
If we compare this to LEDs, which consume 40 to 300 watts – there is a 40% to 60% reduction in energy. Greater savings when lighting controls are added.
Maintenance costs drops to near zero. Most post top lights require a lift to replace or maintain. These jobs are not cheap. Installing a LED fixture that can last 10+ years mean huge maintenance savings.
9. Efficacy (Lumens Per Watt)
Luminous efficacy is the true measure of a bulb’s efficiency. It indicates the lumens produced for every watt of electricity consumed. LEDs are more efficient than traditional bulbs with a higher luminous efficacy. High quality LEDs have awesome efficacy ratings. The standard luminous efficacy is upwards of 130 lumens per watt.
To calculate luminous efficacy, divide the number of lumens the lamp generates by the watts of electricity it consumes. LED light fixtures with a higher luminous efficacy are more efficient than those with a lower luminous efficacy.
We have LED Pole Top fixtures rated at 130 lumens/watt. We can help you choose the right efficiency.
10. Paybacks can be relatively short
LED payback = Hours of Use + Reduced Use of Electricity + Rebates
Rebates may be the least important of the three. High hours of use and high cost of electricity will dwarf the benefits of a rebate.
Everyone likes a rebate. We have created many proposals where payback was under 1 year even without rebates. Contact us and we can help walk you through the math.
